Third day straight with this song stuck in my head every second that Bent isn’t there. Sounds good when biking down Mission Street at top speed, flipping off cops.
My favorite Young Men song….not just because it’s about my home state…well, maybe a little,
For some reason, I can’t get my buddy,Jamie out of my head this week, I’ve been listening to his songs all week going between wanting to cry and simultaneously muttering “you motherfucker” for making me feel that way. He was so troubling, misunderstood…he could be so sweet and punch you in the face within the same 5 minutes. After walking all over the neighborhood with this song stuck in my head, I sat at the kitchen table, wishing that I could sit there with him and tell him about my new band. I want to hear the music he’d be writing now. I just want him to be here, in all his imperfect glory.
Note to my friends: Don’t ever die, okay?
Greg and Travis dig through the new tapes and records to find some hidden gems and increase their hit points. They also discover that they need to turn the mics
I hosted the MRR Radio show this week. Take a listen
Honestly, I was just talking to my bandmates on Wednesday about how to recreate the cannon-like drum sound from this song in a live setting. I’ve been trying and failing to do that ever since I first started playing drums when I was 12. Every time I’ve ever recorded anything on drums, this LP has been in the back of my mind. I’ve been trying and failing to rip off Tommy Ramone since day one. Please take a moment to bask in the sheer, simple brilliance that is the Ramones today.
I didn’t grow up liking radio pop or MTV music or whatever, so my perspective is a little skewed and I consider this a guilty pleasure. It’s been stuck in my head for a week.

The Smiths - Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want
I was playing a music trivia game the other day and named this song after it was on for 1.5 seconds, thanks to my depressing ass teenage years. My teammate, Martin got the Donna Summers and Thompson Twins songs within 1 second thanks to spending a lot of his time in queer dance clubs. Yeah, we won.
I saw The Gizmos last night and I personally lost my shit when they played this song.
